People passing by this colorful train overpass bridge might think the bridge is actually made of legos. Well sorry to burst your bubbly but its only painted to look that way. It took longer than expected, 4 weeks. Megx was the creator of this, his real name is Martin Heuwold. The bridge is located in Wuppertal, Germany. The train rail above was abandoned and turned into a pedestrian pathway, and cycle path.
I personally think its a good way to bring colors into the city. It is an improvement from the dirty gray concrete for sure. I know that there is a lot of great sidewalk art similar to this in Chicago such as the tunnel near Oak Street Beach. They recently added a colorful mural within the tunnel. If it was my decision I would paint something more meaningful other than legos! It also probably brings interest to kids. I really enjoy sidewalk art and it its a good way to substitute graffiti.
