Aqua Building Chicago Architecture

What is the Aqua Building?

Aqua is an 82 story building (primarily residential) that is located in downtown Chicago Illinois. The building is the tallest building in the world to have a woman as an architect, at a soaring 859 feet. The facade of the building is characterized by emerging wavy balconies, some that emerge 12 feet. The name was influenced by the wavy pattern of balconies and because of its location near Lake Michigan.

Energy Efficiency

Gang and her team maximized the environmentally friendly capabilities of the building. Her team of architects implemented rainwater collection systems and energy-efficient lighting. The green roof will be the largest of all buildings in Chicago, quite an achievement.

Facts About the Aqua Building

  • Construction time: 2007-2009

The Aqua building has inspired other architects in Texas, and others around the world. I have personally been attached to the building simple because of the grand uniqueness that it brings o the shores of Chicago. It’s non symmetrical shape enquirers an attraction to its design. Everyone talks about this marvelous building in Chicago!
