Robert William Baker also known as Bob Barker is a retired and renowned American television game show host. Furthermore, He has hosted The Price is Right, one of the longest running show in the history of American television. Additionally, the CBS’s show spanned over 30 years starting from 1972 with the last episode being aired in 2007. Barker is also known for hosting Truth or Consequences from 1956 to 1975. Born on December 1923, Barker is currently enjoying his retirement life at his 2-story Spanish colonial, located on the southwest corner of Hillside and Outpost. Also, built in 1929 as a part of the ‘Outpost Estate’ it is one of the earliest luxury homes built in LA which is now known for its luxury life.
In 1999, the City of Los Angeles made his home a ‘Historic Cultural Landmark’ and it was named ‘Outpost II.’
Barker has spent the most beautiful young years of his life at this house as he’s living here for more than 35 years.
"We knew that the house was truly special from the moment my wife, Dorothy Jo, and I moved in," Barker said. "As a result, we never did anything to alter its exterior or interior architecture."
His wife Dorothy Jo Gideon passed away in 1981.
Built in 1929, the luxurious house is described as an unaltered historic example of Spanish Colonial Revival style. If location is not enough, the architecture and its low-pitched roofs and interiors opening with French elegant doors will take your breath away.
