Since your work might entail sensitive material, it is imperative to secure access to it. Making sure that your garage door is burglar-proof is a small but critical step to take. Aside from your own space, you need good internet connectivity, a laptop, printer, and other office supplies and tools.
What Are Your Employer’s Requirements?
Sure, your employer is offering you a lot of flexibility in terms of this new work setup, but there are some requirements you still need to comply with. Some employers require certain workers to be in the office on certain days of the week. For example, they may want you to attend the weekly Monday meetings. They may also need you when they have to meet clients, so that’s another consideration.
Before you make any decision on your work schedule, talk it over with your manager. How about emergencies? What if something happens in the office? Will you need to run there to fix it? Does the office want to monitor how many hours you log in when you are not in the office?
