John List was a wild murderer. If you can believe it, he killed his wife, mother, and three children. He escaped the area and made it seem like nothing happened. His story is crazy. Believe it or not the old house burned down and a new mansion was built on top. So, sadly this is not the same house where the murders happened. It is probably for the best that new house was built because the story of the old house was so sad.
Westfield, New Jersey is a nice area and is located just an hour west of New York City. Technically this city is part of the New York City metropolitan area. The neighborhood the home is in looks nice and features many other older homes.
