Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 American comedy movie. The movie stars Robin Williams and Sally Field. Pierce Brosnan also appears alongside the cast. Mrs. Doubtfire was based on Anne Fine's 1987 novel, Alias Madame Doubtfire. Randi Mayem Singer and Leslie Dixon wrote the screenplay. The movie follows Robin Williams’s character who is going through a divorce. The character hatches a plan to dress up like an older female housekeeper so that he can gain access to his kids’ lives. Furthermore, the film addresses themes of divorce, separation, and the effect they have on a family. Additionally, Mrs. Doubtfire became an instant classic, grossing $441.3 million on a $25 million budget, and becoming the second-highest-grossing film of 1993 worldwide.
