Anthony Sowell House: Cleveland Colonial

Anthony Sowell was an American serial killer and rapist. Sowell was born in Ohio on August 19th, 1959. He was one of seven siblings. In 1989 he served fifteen years for kidnapping, rape, and attempted rape. After his release, he made a living selling scrap metal. He also collected unemployment benefits during this time. Additionally, in 2009 he was arrested after the bodies of eleven women were found in his home on Imperial Ave. Furthermore, he was convicted and sentenced to death in 2011. However on February 8th, 2021, he died from a terminal illness at the Franklin Medical Center. He was sixty-one when he died. The FBI re-opened many 1980's cold cases. They believed Sowell could have also been responsible for many more deaths. Check out the Anthony Sowell house below.

 The house had four bedrooms and three bathrooms with over 4,200 square feet of space. This classic colonial home was originally built in 1917. This was a three-story home, with white paneling. On the second story, there was a front-facing balcony overlooking the street. Furthermore, the home featured an attic, basement, and fireplace. It also featured steps leading up to a classic front porch.  Additionally, in 2011 the home was demolished on city orders. There have been plans to turn the space into a memorial garden. Located in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Cleaveland, OH. Mount Pleasant is located in the Southeast side of Cleveland. Additionally, there is a population of 17,563. It is a part of Cuyahoga County.
