Dave Matthews is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on January 9th, 1967. He is the lead vocalist for the Dave Matthews Band. Additionally, Matthews started playing acoustic guitar at the age of nine. In 1991 he formed the Dave Matthews Band. Until 2010, his band sold more tickets and earned more money than any other act in North America. Additionally, the band's 2012 album Away from the World made them the only group to have six consecutive studio albums debut at number one on the Billboard charts. Aside from music, Matthews has also appeared in movies such as I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Just Go with It, and Lake City with Sissy Spacek.
