The Menendez brothers are American convicted murderers. Lyle and Erik Menendez were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Kitty. They were 18 and 21 years old at the time. On August 20, 1989, José and Kitty were watching a movie in their den. Both of their sons went into the den with shotguns, and shot their parents multiple times, killing them.
