Martin Luther King Jr was a Baptist minister and an activist. In 1968 he was assassinated by James Earl Ray. Furthermore, King was well known for his historic “I Have a Dream” speech. He gave the famous speech during the 1963 March on Washington. Additionally, he was an icon and a leader during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Furthermore, he had five children. All of his children, including Bernice King, went on to become activists in their own right. Additionally, in 2006 his widow Coretta Scott King passed away.
