Check if your radiator is warm from the bottom only and cold on top. If so then you have a problem there. Fix this by letting the air escape. Switch off your heating system then places a bowl below the radiator. This will catch the spillage and identify where the valve is bleeding. Your radiators will come up with a bleed key through which you can open this valve. You will hear air escaping and water will start dripping. Switch the system. Just check if the boiler pressure is not high.
Got and cold radiators- Hot and cold radiators mean there is an obstruction to the flow of water in the system. check if the radiators are offering hot flashes or cold flashes. Open the valves of cold ones. If the cold radiators are may create problems due to boiler pressure. Release more water into the system to get back the pressure. If the cold radiator is constructed below the downstairs then the reason may be the pump. You can’t fix this issue on your own. Also, it’s dangerous. It needs to descale. Hire professional workers for this job.
Dirty or clogged filter – Filters can be clogged due to heavy usage. This can disrupt the heat flow. This is a very serious issue. You can replace the air filter on your own. If still, it doesn’t work then hire a professional for help. Contact your local professional for a central heating pipe.
Your heating system's fan is not working – If your heating system is not working then check the thermostat to find its correct setting. If it’s still not working then check the air filter to ensure that it’s not dirty. A dirty air filter can block the fan from working. Make sure you clean the air filter annually. Put on the circuit breakers to check the stability. But don’t switch it on and off continuously. If still the fan is not working then hire professionals for this work.
Burning smell from your heating system – When you turn on your heating system after a long break then it may spread a burning smell. It occurs because of the dust and dirt in the system.
