Minimalism is hitting trends, but there is so much more coming back to the spotlight with it. Glass and wood paintings have started popping again in the world of interior designs, and we cannot wait to show you how you can include them in your home too.

Go get your paint brushes now!

1. Collect The Cheap Glassware

We all have those glass pieces we picked up from a thrift store. If you are unsure what to do with them because you can’t present them to your guests, paint them. You can gather any glassware for your glass paint design that you find tossed back in your cabinet and have not been used for generations.

2. Remove Loose Particles From Wood

While painting Wood, surface preparation is key. You need to ensure all the excess & loosely bound material are removed. This gives you a clean and precisely-shaped surface ready for the painting. You can use a correct grade sandpaper for this purpose. If the surface is more rugged coarser sandpaper will be preferred, but if the surface is relatively smooth, then you can have finer paper for sanding. Objective is to ensure that surface smoothens up & then wood paint application can start.

3. Sketch The Design On The Glass

Creating a design on your glassware for painting will make it easier for you to paint properly with no hindrance. That is why sketching a design out on the glassware is a good practice. At this point, you must have all the right tools for the glass painting, or you might end up spoiling the painting altogether.

4. Focus On The Finish

One stroke of paint on your Wood won’t be the endgame. You need to apply several coats to get the result of a perfectly-defined Wooden paint. There has to be minimum 2 priming or sealer coats followed by 2 top coats. Sometimes same product can be used as priming coat & top coat. Top coats can be Semigloss, Gloss or Matt finish depending upon your choice.

5. Take Your Time To Paint

Painting is an art, and you are the artist. When you paint on Glass or Wood as per your preference, do not rush. Remember that the artists need their time to bring creativity out on the canvas at their leisure. So, take your time and enjoy this process of painting. Indulge in it passionately, and you are bound to have fun.

6. Never Forget To Prime The Wood

To prime the Wood means creating a blank canvas to paint on seamlessly. However, if the Wood is not coated using a sealer or a primer, you might have difficulty painting the surface properly.

These are some of the best tips to follow when deciding to indulge in Wood and glass painting. Try them out now to have a great painting experience!
