July 19, 2022

What exactly is The Sims? If you’ve been living under a rock for the past twenty years, you might not be familiar with The Sims. Or, maybe you’ve heard of it, but really have no idea what it is. Furthermore, the Sims is a game that was first released for Microsoft Windows back in the year 2000. The year was the dawn of a new millennium. And thus, the dawn of a new game. One that is still addicting and played fiercely by today's generation of kids. And let's be honest, by adults that were playing as kids when it first came out. The idea of The Sims is you can simulate everyday life. Furthermore,  you can get married, build your house, have children. And even go to work. It’s like playing barbies for the tech-loving children of the world. Let’s take a look at some Sims 4 house ideas.

The History of The Sims

The first Sims game was released in 2000. It was aptly titled The Sims. Four years later, The Sims 2 was released. Followed by The Sims 3 in 2009. And most recently, The Sims 4 in 2014. Excitedly, in 2022 The Sims 5 was announced. If you’ve been playing since the early days, you might be worried that you’ve run out of ideas for the new games. Don’t worry though, I’ll help you with some new house ideas.

Cabin House

You might be looking for a woodsy element. Or maybe a snowy mountain backdrop. Additionally, you could build a summer cabin on the lake. Opting to build a cabin, instead of the typical suburban house will surely help you stand out. The snowy mountain backdrop gives you many options for the type of cabin you want. Especially if you have The Sims 4: Snowy Escape pack. If so, you can choose to build your home in Mt. Komorebi. Because of the cold snowy climate, you are able to create numerous chimneys. As well as different roof architecture. All that would look perfect with snow falling and settling into all the nooks. You can even add a sleigh or an ice rink in the front yard. The children can have a snowball fight or even build snowmen. Keep reading for some more Sims 4 house ideas.

Sims 4 Tiny House Ideas

When it comes to the real world, the new trend has been tiny homes. And minimalism. The tinier the better. You see it everywhere.  Tiny homes and yurts. Even old buses turned into a trendy home on wheels. So why not create a tiny home for your Sims 4 house? The creativity it would take you to take a school bus and design the interior into your ideal tiny home space. The fun you would have designing the once yellow bus, into a picture-perfect, idyllic home. With a garden, and maybe even a little coy pond. Maybe even a swingset. Furthermore, the architecture alone would be amazing. This would be a great way to get your creative juices flowing. And create a unique Sims 4 house.

The Mansion

Designing a mansion is one of the best ideas for a Sims house. Mainly because of the large space that you have to utilize. You can really do anything you want. A grand ballroom, an elevator, or a large pool. And even a bowling alley! And it isn’t just about the interior. It's about the exterior as well. Furthermore, mansions ooze opulence. The exterior is just as important as the inside. In creating your very own mansion, you have many unique design options at your disposal. You can design an over-the-top garden. A grand water fountain. Even a waterfall. Additionally, you can fill your driveway with vintage cars. Additionally, you even have the architectural details to consider. From wrought iron fences to classic brick pillars. You can let your imagination and decadence flow. You can live vicariously through the game. Need more Sims 4 house ideas? What about a treehouse?

Sims 4 Treehouse Ideas

Imagine living in a treehouse? You probably can’t. Because the treehouses in the real world are small. And typically child size. This is because they are not made to live in, but for small children to play in. However, in the world of The Sims, anything goes. Furthermore, what we picture a treehouse to look like, can be completely reimagined in the Sims 4 world. Why not create a mansion in the trees? Or a cabin? Or even a tiny home? Just think of the design elements that you can incorporate. Furthermore, it can be made of wood, brick, or metal. How beautiful would it look to have a house made of glass wrapped up in the trees? You can design your own steps to the home. Whatever you decide. Rope stairs, a pulley, heck, even an escalator. Why not? Additionally, it can be whatever you want it to be.

I hope reading this list helped spark a bit of creativity. If you’re already an avid Sims 4 player, you’ve probably been playing for a long time. It’s only natural to run out of ideas. With the announcement of The Sims 5 coming this year, it’s time to start thinking of even new ideas. Additionally, what are some ideas that you have that maybe aren’t listed here? Go ahead and get started! Happy building!
