When most people think of Arizona, they think of desert landscapes, cacti, and warm weather. What they don't think of are the dangerous cities that exist in the state. Believe it or not, there are a few cities in Arizona that have higher than average crime rates and are generally considered to be unsafe. In this blog post, we'll take a look at three of the most dangerous cities in Arizona.

1. Phoenix

As the capital city of Arizona and the most populous city in the state, it's not surprising that Phoenix would make this list. Phoenix has a population of over 1.6 million people and a crime rate that is 40% higher than the national average. The violent crime rate in Phoenix is also 50% higher than the rest of the state. Property crimes are also a problem in Phoenix, with a rate that is 30% higher than the rest of Arizona. Overall, Phoenix is considered to be one of the most dangerous cities in the state.

2. Tucson

Tucson is another city with a population of over 1 million people. It also has a crime rate that is higher than the national average. Violent crimes are particularly prevalent in Tucson, with a rate that is 60% higher than Arizona's averages. Property crimes are also an issue in Tucson, with a rate that is 20% higher than average. In general, Tucson is considered to be a dangerous city where crime is concerned.

3. Yuma

Yuma rounds out this list as the third most dangerous city in Arizona. It doesn't have as high of a population as Phoenix or Tucson (the population is just over 200,000), but it does have a crime rate that is significantly higher than both of those cities. The violent crime rate in Yuma is 80% higher than the rest of Arizona, and the property crime rate is 40% higher than average. All things considered, Yuma is definitely one of the most dangerous cities in the state.
