Most Dangerous Cities in Georgia

Georgia is a beautiful state with a lot to offer its residents. But unfortunately, not all cities in the state are equally safe. What is the most dangerous city in Georgia? In this blog post, we'll take a look at the most dangerous cities in Georgia so that you can be aware of the risks if you're planning on moving to or visiting the state.

1. Brunswick

The most dangerous city in Georgia is Brunswick. Located in Glynn County, Brunswick has a population of just over 15,000 people. The city has a violent crime rate of 1,745 per 100,000 people, which is more than five times the national average. Property crimes are also ridiculously high in Brunswick, with a rate of 8,437 per 100,000 people. So if you're looking for a safe place to live or visit in Georgia, Brunswick is definitely not it.

2. Savannah

Savannah is another city that you'll want to avoid if safety is your top concern. With a population of nearly 150,000 people, Savannah is the fifth largest city in Georgia. But it also has a very high crime rate, with 1,744 violent crimes and 8,338 property crimes per 100,000 people. Tourists are often drawn to Savannah because of its historic charm and waterfront location, but they should be aware that it's also one of the most dangerous cities in the state.

If you're looking for a big city in Georgia that's relatively safe, Atlanta is your best bet. Although it ranked as the third most dangerous city in Georgia with 1,056 violent crimes and 4,731 property crimes per 100,000 people, it's still far safer than Brunswick and Savannah. With a population of more than 500,000 people, Atlanta is by far the largest city in the state and it offers a lot in terms of job opportunities and cultural attractions. Just be sure to take precautions and stay aware of your surroundings when you're out and about in Atlanta.
