Affordable beauty secret: Apple for your face

December 14, 2022

Apples are both hydrating and nutritional; they contain vitamins A, B, and C, antioxidants, and minerals.

It’s no wonder that skincare brands like Juice Beauty and Glamglow have introduced apples as an ingredient in some of their products. Not sure if you want to buy expensive apple-infused skincare products yet? Below, we have DIY masks you can make with the apples in your house. If you’ve run out, lucky for you, they are currently on sale in the Maxi flyer. Order them together with some milk, honey, and natural yogurt for the different masks you’ll find below.

What are the benefits of apples for your skin?

  • It supports healthy aging
  • It’s a good exfoliant
  • It hydrates your skin
  • It can reduce acne
  • It brightens complexion

Do apples give you clear skin?

As an exfoliator, apple extract is naturally abundant in alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), a gentle exfoliant that sloughs off dead skin cells without irritating microbeads or scrubbing bits, helping to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion.

Hydrated skin is soft, plump, and glowy. Apples have a high water content, and when this is combined with the nutrients in apples, it helps to keep good hydration levels in your body and your skin.

Another way that apples support clear skin is by balancing your skin’s PH levels. Maintaining your skin's PH levels is essential for the overall health of your skin. This helps your skin fight off bacteria, fight off free radicals that accelerate the aging process, and reduce sebum production.

Is apple an anti-aging fruit?

Apple contains phenolic acids and flavonoids. These are important because they have antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, and anti-inflammatory properties. This is good for your body, but it is also great for your skin. Many anti-aging products contain these ingredients because they protect the skin from air pollution, infection, UV exposure, and other environmental factors.

Are apples good for skin and hair?

Apple extract is beneficial for your skin and hair, in addition to your face. Apple polyphenols can stimulate the development of keratin in hair follicles, promoting hair growth following patterned hair loss. Using scalp serums with apple extract may promote hair thickness.

Does apple reduce wrinkles?

In the form of apple cider vinegar, apples can help reduce wrinkles and prevent them from forming later.

Particularly, using an apple cider vinegar toner may aid in tightening skin and shielding it from damaging environmental factors. Tightening the skin's cells helps you prevent wrinkles from forming. As a toner, face cleanser, and even a spot treatment for the skin, apple cider vinegar is useful.

How do you add apples to your skincare routine?

Red apple for skin

Another anti-aging treatment is the red apple. After peeling and chopping the apple, boil it in a glass of whole milk. When the mixture has cooled, combine it all in a blender or mortar to create a cream that you will apply to your face as a mask. Let it set on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse off.

Green apple for skin

To tone your skin, apply raw apple slices to your face and let them sit for about 30 minutes.

You can make a natural mask using one green apple, yogurt, and honey if you want to soften your skin. Make an apple purée and mix it with three tablespoons of honey and natural yogurt in a jar until everything is well combined. Apply it to your perfectly clean face, then leave it on for between 10 and 15 minutes. Use warm water to rinse.

The skin of an apple contains some beneficial nutrients, but you should be careful how you use apple skin if you want to try it. If not cleaned properly, apple skin can retain bacteria and dirt.
