6 Reasons Why Your School Should Be Prepping For the Metaverse

The Metaverse will have a big year in 2023 because Apple's mixed reality headset and other VR headsets, which will change the way people learn, are expected to come out. When comparing VR headsets, factors to consider include the display resolution, tracking technology, comfort, available content library, system requirements, price, and intended use case (gaming, professional, or commercial).

The metaverse concept is not just something out of a sci-fi book. It's already here and playing a bigger and bigger role in our daily lives.

The metaverse offers educational institutions the chance to use spatial computing and artificial intelligence to improve learning outcomes and the student experience.

In 2021, a Brookings study of 100 of the most popular educational apps from Google Play and the Apple app store rated the apps based on four criteria: social interaction, meaningful learning, active learning, and engagement in education.

According to a 0–3 grading scale for each of the Four Pillars, Brookings classifies apps in this study as either low-quality or high-quality based on their quality. Apps with a total score of less than four are regarded as being of lower quality.

According to the results, only seven apps could be found in the top category, and 50% had cumulative scores in the low-quality range. The study found that the principles of learning and development science must be used right away to make better designs. VR and the Metaverse are useful in this situation.

According to a study, 76% of kids under 18 are proficient gamers. This comfort with gaming technology can be used for metaverse education and learning.

In the real world, making changes to a school's curriculum or building can take a long time and cost a lot of money. At the same time, colleges are currently operating on tight budgets.

  • The virtual campus allows students to work with other students and teachers, complete gaming-style assignments, and win virtual money or certificates.

Gamification in the classroom can encourage healthy competition and teamwork while teaching students how to improve themselves, get along with others, and understand basic ideas through play.
