Aurora is a city filled with many fun things to do. From charming historic farms to museums and challenging games, Aurora has something for everyone to enjoy.

One of the top things to do in Aurora is visit Splash Country Water Park. The park has swimming pools, slides and a lazy river.

Splash Country Water Park

Splash Country Water Park is a great place to cool off in the summer sun. It has a giant wave pool and a series of exciting slides for thrill-seekers.

You can also catch a game of sand volleyball or play in the kiddie area. This deluxe water park has the second largest lazy river in Illinois, a six-lane zero-depth pool and lots of other attractions.

Abbey Farms

Abbey Farms is a family-friendly agri-tourism farm that offers three seasons of fun for all. During the summer, you can enjoy produce shopping and dining; during fall, you can take part in the “Pumpkin Daze” event, where you can find a corn maze, hay rides, and more!

In winter, you can cut your own Christmas tree and purchase wreaths, bakery items, and other goodies. There are also several entertaining events that take place at Abbey Farms throughout the year, including bottomless mimosa brunches and fresh produce markets.

Vaughan Aquatic Center and Indoor Water Park

Vaughan Aquatic Center and Indoor Water Park offers year-round aquatic fun for the whole family. The water park features tubes slides, a lazy river and spray and play areas.

The complex also includes a 10,000-square-foot fitness center and a multipurpose field house with indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton courts, batting cages, an 1/8-mile elevated running track and suspended track around the perimeter of the fieldhouse.

The aquatic area includes an eight-lane, 25-yard lap pool and a leisure pool, therapy pool and recreational water systems. Additionally, the facility features dance and cardiovascular, aerobic and weight-training areas, as well as concessions, locker rooms, administrative offices and a multipurpose room for community programs.

Blackberry Farm

Located on 54 acres of land, Blackberry Farm is a great place for families to get outside and enjoy an exciting adventure like never before. It has many attractions, rides, and historical demonstrations that will fill an entire day of fun for everyone.

The site is full of fun activities for the whole family and is also home to a petting zoo. Its rides include a train, hay wagon, pedal tractors, and paddle boats.

Fox Valley Mall

Fox Valley Mall is the premier shopping center in Illinois featuring top retailers, specialty stores, entertainment and dining. Anchored by Macy's, Carson Pirie Scott, JCPenney and Sears, the three-level mall also has a full food court and merry-go-round.

The mall also recently transformed its former central courtyard into a public gathering space with green space, places to sit and artwork by the old Carson's. The new "Center Park" also features an indoor ice skating rink that will reopen in November 2020.

Paramount Theater

Paramount Theater is one of the best places to watch movies in Aurora. It has a great staff and clean theatres.

It also has a variety of entertainment options, including live performances and concerts. It's the ideal place to spend a night out with friends or family.

The Paramount Theatre opened in 1931 and was designed by Rapp and Rapp in the Art Deco style with Venetian elements. It has hosted films, plays, musicals, concerts and comedy shows over the years.

SciTech Hands-On Museum

SciTech Hands-On Museum is an interactive science museum that inspires kids and adults alike. It's located in a historic post office building in downtown Aurora and features over 200 interactive exhibits.

It offers group field trips, overnights, scout programs, birthday parties and summer camps. It's a great place to learn about electricity, weather, magnets and more in a safe and colorful environment.

Sports Zone

If you’re looking for a fun day out with the family, check out Sport Zone. This family-friendly center features go-karting, an 18-hole mini-golf course, and batting cages.

In addition, this attraction has the world’s largest bungee jumping platform. It’s also home to a unique laser tag experience called the basement attraction.
