things to do in clermont fl

If you are visiting Clermont, there are many fun things you can do. These fun places will keep you entertained and help you have a wonderful time during your vacation in Florida.

For starters, you can spend a day golfing at The Legends Golf and Country Club! The course is just shy of 7,000 yards from the gd tees, and it is scenic and challenging.

1. Florida Citrus Tower

The Florida Citrus Tower is located in Clermont, a small town west of Orlando. It is a perfect place for those who are looking for an affordable home with plenty of local activities to do.

The tower was built in 1956 and it is one of the most famous landmarks in the area. It was originally built to showcase the citrus industry, but since then the area has developed and the tower is now surrounded by suburban neighborhoods.

During its early years the tower was a popular tourist attraction and brought in nearly 500,000 visitors each year. However, when the Florida Turnpike was built in 1964 the tower became less popular and it has since gone through multiple owners trying to re-regain it’s popularity.

The tower is now a tourist attraction that offers amazing views of the surrounding areas. The observation deck is 22 stories high and gives you a 360 degree view of the hundreds of lakes and rolling hills in the area. It is also a great place for photos!

2. Lake Louisa State Park

Part swamp, part hill and several parts lake, Lake Louisa State Park is a nature lover’s dream. Set within a vast Green Swamp, which is critical for replenishing Florida’s aquifer, this 4,372 acre park offers hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping and swimming opportunities that are hard to find elsewhere.

If you’re looking for an outdoor escape that’s not too far from Orlando, try staying at a Lake Louisa cabin or campground. With a variety of campsites and cabins to choose from, there’s something for everyone!

This park features 60 full-hookup campsites nestled between Dixie and Hammond lakes, with 20 cabins overlooking the water. There are also primate equestrian campsites, youth group campsites and hike-in tent sites.

3. Palatlakaha River

The Palatlakaha River Park & Boat Ramp in Clermont offers nature lovers a chance to enjoy a day of fun outdoors. The scenic river is surrounded by lush greenery, making it an ideal location for a family picnic or relaxing outing with friends.

There are also fishing opportunities for anglers, with many large mouth bass being caught in the river. Visitors can also take to the water in a canoe or kayak for a fun and relaxing experience.

For those who like to hike, the 1.7 mile Crooked River Preserve can be a great place for a stroll. This preserve is part of the Lake County Water Authority’s Land Preservation Program and protects a section of wetlands along the Palatlakaha River.

The Palatlakaha Chain of Lakes is a popular fishing destination for locals and visitors alike. It is a series of 11 lakes and streams that are interconnected and provide access to a variety of fishing opportunities.

4. Presidents Hall of Fame

The Presidents Hall of Fame is one of Florida’s oldest roadside attractions and is a must-see when visiting Clermont. This attraction has a lot to offer, including a White House replica and a Presidential Wax Museum.

It’s the perfect place to learn some cool history and a great way to get the whole family together. You’ll see life-like wax figures of each of the presidents and mannequins wearing dresses from their first ladies.

You’ll also find a miniature White House and lots of other historical memorabilia. This is a fun place to take your kids and you’ll learn a lot of interesting facts that will have them talking about their trip for weeks.

John Zweifel, the man who created a 10-ton replica of the White House, died in December and his 84-year-old sons, Jack, James and Randy, are trying to raise awareness about the historic roadside attraction. It’s a labor of love for the family and has been around since 1960.
