The Chinsegut Big Pine Tract is a popular hiking destination in the forest, featuring one of the few remaining old-growth longleaf pine forests in Florida. It’s also home to gopher tortoises and a population of Florida’s red-headed woodpeckers.
5. Visit the Brooksville Farm
The Brooksville Farm is a family run fruit picking farm where you can pick your own strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. There are also a wide variety of fresh vegetables for sale and they host special events and festivals throughout the year.
During the fall, they sell pumpkins and corn stalks along with hay bales and harvest decorations. It's a fun place to go with the kids and enjoy a great day out!
