Buford, Georgia is a small town with big city vibes and a lot of exciting attractions. With plenty of outdoor activities and things to do near Lake Lanier shores, it is a popular destination for tourists.

Take your family on a fun-filled day at the Buford Corn Maze, where you can enjoy a five-acre corn maze with play areas, hayrides, and a haunted forest. It also features concessions, gift shops, and picnic areas.

Mall of Georgia

The Mall of Georgia is a shopping mecca for those in search of big brands and excellent services. With more than 200 stores on three levels, you can easily spend an entire day here.

Located in unincorporated Gwinnett County, near the city of Buford, it was built by Simon Property Group and opened in 1999. It's the largest shopping mall in the state and Atlanta metropolitan area.

The mall features a unique outdoor shopping village modeled after an old-fashioned Georgia town square. It also includes elements that showcase the state's heritage and history. This includes historic murals, display cases with authentic artifacts and architecture recalling historic structures of Atlanta.

Buford Corn Maze

The Buford Corn Maze, a five-acre maze that's one of Georgia's most popular family attractions, is a fun place to visit for all ages. The maze is open September to November and offers a corn box play area, animal viewings, hayrides, pony rides, a pumpkin patch, photo ops and more.

A popular haunted forest is also available for visitors who are seeking a little more Halloween thrills. Admission to the maze is $16, or $26 for a combo ticket that includes the Haunted Forest.

Buford Youth Sports Complex

Located next to a high school, the Buford Youth Sports Complex has a multipurpose field for community football and lacrosse games. It also has tennis courts and bleachers on a hill for spectators.

During summer, local schools host week-long youth camps for baseball and football to give children the opportunity to learn from high school coaches and players. This is a great way for kids to get involved in their favorite sport.

Another fun activity is to go on a self-guided Historic Houses Driving Tour to see the many beautiful homes in the area. Or, try the Paranoia Quest - Escape Room for a thrilling experience!

Buford Variety Theater

If you want to spend some time watching a show, head over to the Buford Variety Theater. This place offers various shows and performances that will make you laugh your heart out.

The theater is located in the historic Tannery Row Artist Colony, right up from upscale restaurants and decor shops.

Aside from entertainment, the place also serves traditional American cuisine with a hint of international touch. It features rustic interiors of red brick walls and wooden flooring that exude a cozy casual ambiance.

Snow Island

If you love being outdoors and enjoying the fresh air, then Buford has a lot of fun things to do. The city is a short drive from Lake Lanier, which offers numerous activities like fishing, boating, and jet skiing.

For indoor fun, head to Bogan Park Community Recreation & Aquatic Center, which has Buford’s purest and largest indoor pool, a tall waterslide, and water play amenities. It’s also a large sports complex with a moderate-sized gym, dance studio and indoor badminton and basketball courts.

If you’re a fan of selfies, then the Icona Selfie Museum is a must-visit. It has a number of interactive exhibits that let you take your own instagrammable photos.
