Located in Calabasas, the Malibu Hindu Temple is one of the best places to visit while in this area. It’s a beautiful landmark that welcomes all visitors, and it’s also one of the largest Hindu temples in the US.
Founded in 1981, the Malibu Hindu Temple is owned and maintained by the Hindu Temple Society of Southern California. It’s dedicated to the Hindu God Venkateswara and draws visitors from all over the United States.
The founding president was Vasan Srinivasan, a civil engineer, who raised funds from local families and recruited priests from India to preside over services. The priests live on the grounds and are a big part of the community here.
