The Faulkner County Museum
If you are looking for a way to explore the history of Conway and its surrounding areas, the Faulkner County Museum is a great place to start. The museum is located in the former Faulkner County Jail and has a number of different exhibits that tell the stories of Conway’s past.
Aside from the museum, visitors can also visit Cadron Settlement Park, which is home to a replica of the blockhouse tavern that served travelers along the Arkansas River in the 1800s. The park also includes miles of hiking trails and historic markers that will let you know more about the people who once lived here.
Founded in 1992, the Faulkner County Museum is funded by a voluntary county millage. It focuses on the prehistory, history and culture of the area and houses a variety of artifacts and collections.
The Hog Wild Family Fun Center
The Hog Wild Family Fun Center is an indoor fun center where kids can enjoy a variety of activities and attractions including laser tag, bumper cars, and mini golf. It also has an arcade with over 50 games and offers a variety of birthday party packages.
The former Crystal Palace Skating Center is currently being remodeled into the Hog Wild Family Fun Center. It is located at 3000 S. 70th St and is scheduled to open mid-March.
It is owned by Buddy and Miranda Grimes who created the franchise in 2008 in Russellville. They started out in a 4,000 square foot building and within a year expanded the Russellville location and then moved to Conway.
The new Fort Smith Hog Wild has more than 70 arcade and redemption games, with all new video games like a 7-foot-tall Pac-Man game and Terminator: Salvation where you help Arnold Schwarzenegger search for a job. There are also all new bumper cars and a miniature golf course that glows in the dark.
Mike’s Place
Mike’s Place is a family-owned restaurant that is known for its fun and entertaining decor. Its menu features a variety of American comfort foods.
The owner, Michael Coats, has a lot of experience in the hospitality industry. He started in the business as a bartender at the Conway Country Club while he was attending college.
He has worked his way up to running a couple of restaurants in Conway. He says the key to his success is the staff and the culture.
The restaurant employs 160 people, all of whom work together to produce a quality product that is consistent and top-notch. The owner also promotes a weekly manager’s meeting where all employees bring suggestions to be considered for the restaurant’s menus.
