The Edmond Historical Society & Museum is an excellent place to learn about the city’s fascinating history. Its permanent exhibits are arranged chronologically, starting from the town’s genesis in 1886.

1. Pelican Bay Aquatic Center

Pelican Bay Aquatic Center is a state-of-the-art municipal leisure pool. It features two 150 ft water slides, diving boards, a current channel, an aquatic climbing wall and a slide splash pool for plenty of ways to cool off on hot summer days.

It also has a colorful cabana surrounding a water playground with automated sprays, a vortex and other interesting features to keep kids entertained all day long. It offers swimming classes and is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday party.

2. Arcadia Lake

Arcadia Lake offers a host of activities for everyone, including water sports, fishing, camping and even lodging. Located just a few miles north of Edmond, Arcadia Lake is a great way to spend some time with your family.

There are several beaches at the lake, including Spring Creek Park beach and Central State Park beach. Both are clean and have nice shady picnic areas with restrooms nearby.

3. Unpluggits Playstudio

The founder of Unpluggits Playstudio, Katrina Uhls, wants to help kids unplug from their devices and unleash their creative side. She offers a variety of craft and ceramic activities, including a two-story indoor playground with a giant pirate ship and free air hockey.

The studio also has a "Daylight Disco" for kids 18 months to 11 years old, which is a two-hour dance party with the latest kid's music and a vintage disco ball.

4. Armstrong Auditorium

Designed to champion Oklahoma as a world-class center for the arts, Armstrong Auditorium is a cultural marvel. It’s home to the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation’s performing arts series and features 823 theater seats.

The palatial auditorium is decorated with Swarovski-trimmed chandeliers, Baccarat crystal candelabras, Spanish marble and American cherry wood veneers. It’s all complemented by incomparable acoustics.

5. Edmond Historical Society & Museum

The Edmond Historical Society & Museum is a free history museum dedicated to celebrating the town's history through education and preservation. It features changing exhibits and a hands-on children's learning center.

Permanent, temporary and traveling exhibits trace the town's history from pre-historic prairies to its settlement as a coal and water replenishment stop for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1887. The museum also focuses on Native Americans and early Edmond settlers.

6. Showbiz Cinema

Showbiz Cinema is a family friendly entertainment center. It boasts 14 boutique bowling lanes, a lane side cafe with expansive food and beverage options, state-of-the-art auditoriums with premium power reclining seats, a massive arcade of over 50 games and prize redemption center, and a lavish full bar.

The most impressive feat is that Showbiz has the largest screen in Oklahoma (and probably the entire country) with a 4K resolution and Dolby Atmos sound.

7. DNA Galleries

DNA Galleries is a small art gallery and artist-produced retail store that sells urban contemporary artwork. It also offers home products like soap and stationery, as well as Oklahoma tee shirts and handmade jewelry.

It is also the home of the Fresh stART, a program that gives artists who have experienced homelessness a platform to display their art. The gallery is a must-visit in OKC for those looking to experience the art of the possible.

8. Arcadia Round Barn

Arcadia Round Barn is an iconic roadside attraction located on Route 66 in Oklahoma. It was built by William Harrison Odor in 1898 and features native bur oak boards that were soaked while green and forced into the curves needed for walls and roof rafters.

The round barn soon became an important community center in Arcadia. Regular barn dances drew crowds and musicians from a wide area.

9. Clauren Ridge Vineyard & Winery

Located in north-west Edmond just outside of Oklahoma City, this winery offers experiences unlike anything else in the state. With esthetics inspired by the grape growing regions of California and France, it’s a quick trip to relaxing vineyard vacation at Clauren Ridge.

Besides hosting weddings and themed dinners, Clauren Ridge also hosts wine tasting events and business meetings. Their exclusive and spectacular wine cave is truly unlike anything you’ll find in the state!

10. Pelican Bay Restaurant

The Pelican Bay Restaurant at Royal West Indies Resort is a fusion of Caribbean, seafood and international cuisines. Its all-you-can-eat lobster extravaganza is a popular choice for vacationers visiting Grace Bay Beach.

It’s also a great spot for cocktails like the Lanny’s Crazy Monkey (vodka with banana puree, baileys and carmel) and Drunken Lobster (coconut/black local rum, coco lopez and pineapple). Its half price happy hour 5-7pm is definitely a must-try!
