Tucked between the Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Forks is a beautiful place to visit. Its quaint atmosphere will have you falling in love with it instantly.

Forks is a great place for exploring a range of activities. From popular tourist attractions and dining at delicious restaurants to outdoor pursuits, there is something for everyone in Forks.

Tree Root Cave

Located on Kalaloch Beach in Olympic National Park, the Tree Root Cave is an extraordinary natural wonder. It looks like it should be dead, but it’s been hanging on, clinging to life despite the erosion that has taken its soil away.

The tree has no official name, but it goes by many monikers: the Kalaloch Tree, The Runaway Tree, Tree Root Cave (for the space beneath it), and The Tree of Life. It’s an awe-inspiring sight, and a must-see if you’re visiting the area.

Second Beach

Second Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the area. It features a seawall and an outdoor swimming pool, as well as 2 playgrounds and a large field where people picnic.

During summer months, you can even see a movie at Stanley Park’s Summer Cinema held every Tuesday evening. This is a free event that is often very popular.

Located in Olympic National Park, Second Beach is an excellent place to take in a beautiful sunset, hike the beach, or camp on the sand. However, due to its popularity during the summer months, camping permits are sometimes hard to come by.

John’s Beachcombing Museum

If you’re looking for something fun to do in Forks Washington, don’t miss the John’s Beachcombing Museum. It’s a unique roadside attraction that has drawn in visitors from all over the world.

The owner of this museum, a retired plumber from Forks, has spent decades combing the beaches around the Pacific Northwest. He opened this unique museum in 2015, displaying his vast collection of found items.

There are many things to see here, from handwritten notes stuffed into glass bottles to Japanese glass fishing floats to Raggedy Ann dolls. It’s all interesting, and the crowd seems to be wowed by everything that they find here.

But the most interesting part of this place is its history. It’s a unique museum that educates visitors about the relationship between the town and timber industries. It also offers a trail that explores logging and forestry history.

Hall of Mosses

Forks is the perfect place to visit when you’re looking for things to do in Washington’s Olympic National Park. It’s a place where you can see the largest Sitka spruce, take in a storm, hike through a rain forest, watch an elk herd on the shoreline, and so much more!

The Hall of Mosses is a 0.8 mile loop trail that takes you through some of the oldest trees in the Hoh Rainforest. These old trees have been draped in moss for centuries, making them a magical place to wander and snap a photo!

The trail begins near the Hoh Rainforest Visitor Center and loops through diverse swaths of rainforest above and along the Hoh River. The Hall of Mosses and Spruce Nature Trail are both short, easy walks that highlight all of the Hoh Rainforest’s beauty and diversity.

Sunset Lanes

The bowling rink, restaurant and pool tables make this a fun place to spend the day with family or a date. There are also a variety of food items available to try at the cafeteria.

While Forks is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to the Twilight series, there is so much more to see and do in this town. The city is filled with quirky and fun shops, excellent museums and tours.

One of the best things to do in Forks is to visit a unique museum called John’s Beachcombing Museum. This museum is full of weird and incredible items that were washed ashore from around the world.
