It is also home to scattered stands of coast live oak and California buckeye trees as well as colorful lichens that cover the rocks these higher elevations.
A short loop trail begins at Laughlin Ranch, passing by several small ponds and then climbs to a pass that leads to the top of the mountain. The peak itself is a beautiful place to visit and offers incredible views over Livermore Valley.
