5. Hocking Valley Scenic Railway
If you are looking for something more educational and relaxing, the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is a great place to go. This tourist railroad is operated by volunteers and offers a number of train rides to choose from.
Rides are available on Saturdays and Sundays, plus some special train rides throughout the year. During the fall, there are open fall foliage trains as well.
6. John Glenn Astronomy Park
Located in Hocking Hills State Park, the John Glenn Astronomy Park (JGAP) is dedicated to inspiring minds through the wonders of the universe. The park features an enclosed 540-square-foot observatory with a retractable roof for night sky viewing.
JGAP also offers daytime study at its Solar Plaza, an 80-foot-diameter plaza that highlights the Sun’s orientation to the Earth as it changes throughout the year.

The Columbus Washboard Company is the last remaining washboard manufacturer in the U.S. They produce about 80,000 washboards per year and are located in Logan, Ohio.
The factory is a time capsule, with old machinery from the 1800s still in use. Tours take about 35 minutes and showcase all the machines and tools used to make washboards.
