On July 21, 1861, Union and Confederate soldiers met for the first major land battle of the Civil War. Here, the Southern army was victorious.

5. Visit the Air Ground Museum

The Air Ground Museum offers a variety of activities and attractions. Among the highlights are guided tours and a museum that houses tanks, guns, and other military items.

It also has a flightline that sits on over 2 1/2 acres of land adjacent to the museum buildings. Here you can see many one-of-a-kind test aircraft and prototypes.

6. Visit the Freedom Museum

If you're a history buff, the Freedom Museum in Manassas is definitely a must-visit. Here, you can view artifacts and letters that tell the story of the soldiers who fought for the country's freedom.

7. Watch a Movie at Manassas 4 Cinemas

Located at 8890 Mathis Avenue in Manassas, Manassas 4 Cinemas is a movie house that features first run movies. It has multiple screens, plush seating and a concession stand.

The theater is owned by Kiran “Bunny” Khorana, a native of Mumbai, India and Centreville resident. He opened the business in May 2011.

8. Visit the Manassas Mall

Located in Bull Run, the Manassas Mall offers a good selection of retail stores, services and unique entertainment for adults and kids. It is also the perfect place to grab a bite or two and a cool drink, courtesy of a well-stocked food court.
