Southaven is a quaint town that offers some exciting things to do. From big shopping malls to classic restaurants, there are lots of fascinating places in Southaven to explore.

One of the best attractions in Southaven is Southaven Antiques and Gifts, an 8000-square-foot store filled with collectibles. This place is well organized to help you find whatever you’re looking for easily.

The Memphis Zoo

The Memphis Zoo is a great place to visit with kids. The zoo is home to two endangered Giant Pandas and has a wide variety of animals.

You'll find lions and tigers sharing quarters in "Cat Country" and fennec foxes in "Once Upon A Farm." The zoo also has a three-acre outdoor exhibit called “Primate Canyon” that allows monkeys and apes to roam freely.

You'll also want to visit the renowned Memphis Botanic Garden. It features 96 acres of horticulture and sweeping views.

Agricenter International

Agricenter International is a non-profit that hosts 1.3 million visitors annually. Its education, agribusiness and research activities add $524 million to the city’s economy.

The property also draws thousands of horse lovers to its equine campus, which includes a ShowPlace Arena. A capital campaign is in the works to revitalize that facility.

Butler said he hopes to one day have 50 to 60 agriculture companies testing new products on the site. He points to trials of hops that may someday be grown along the Mississippi Delta and used in local beer production.

Beyond the Expo Center, Agricenter has a research farm, demonstration garden and farmer’s market that teach students STEM-based lessons. In addition, the organization has a conservation easement on its property.

The Civil War Museum

If you’re interested in a bit of history, the Civil War Museum is a must-visit. Here you’ll find millions of artifacts from the Civil War that Charles Pendleton, owner/curator of the museum, has collected.

Another historic attraction is the Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum which draws visitors back to the pre-Civil War era. Located inside the Burkle Estate, Slave Haven is one of the stops on the Underground Railroad that offered refuge for runaway slaves as they traveled north to freedom.

The Southaven Arts Council

The Southaven Arts Council puts art first – enhancing our community through making the arts accessible to all, presenting and promoting arts events, and supporting a creative community for local artists.

The council is a tax-exempt organization. Its mission is to promote symphony performances, theatre-related art performances, and other arts activities.

The Southaven Arts Council is located in Southaven, Mississippi. Its address is 5800 Town Square Drive, Southaven, MS 38669.

The Southaven Public Library

The Southaven Public Library offers a variety of programs and services to its customers. These include art classes, games nights and teen book clubs. In addition, the library offers a wide variety of books and educational materials. It is also a member of the Horn Lake Education Council, which helps provide resources to schools. Additionally, the library works with educators to help encourage reluctant readers and develop a reading program for children with special needs.

The library has five branches, each of which has its own hours of operation. The Hernando, Olive Branch, Walls and Southaven libraries are all open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

AMC Theatre

Enjoy a movie at this modern 16 screen multiplex with stadium seating, high back rocker chairs and cup holder arm rests. The AMC Theatre is part of a family owned and operated chain that opened its first location in 1919. This is a great way to see the latest blockbuster films with friends and family.

Other budget friendly attractions include Jim Saucier Memorial Park and Strike Zone Bowling Lanes. This is a fun place to take the whole family and offers bowling, arcade games, special events, a snack bar and a large lobby. It also features the world's largest lighted basketball court. The ice rink is also a great place to cool off on a hot summer day.
