most dangerous cities in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is the 11th safest state in the United States, but several of its cities boast high crime rates.

To identify the most dangerous cities in Pennsylvania, 24/7 Wall St looked at FBI crime data to rank cities with a population of more than 25,000. These were then ranked by the violent crime rate.

McKees Rocks

The borough of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania is located along the south bank of the Ohio River. It's part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

It's known for its large steel interests. It is also home to one of the largest Indian mounds in the state, built by Adena and Hopewell people a thousand years before Europeans arrived.

Crime is a big issue for McKees Rocks residents. They have a 1 in 58 chance of being the victim of a violent crime and a 1 in 22 chance of property crime.

Its crime rate is alarmingly high for a small city. It is also ranked among the most dangerous cities in the entire country.

Darby

Darby, Pennsylvania is a beautiful city with plenty of activities to enjoy. This suburban community is just a few miles from Philadelphia and has many fun things to see and do!

However, Darby also ranks as one of the most dangerous cities in Pennsylvania. With a violent crime rate that is higher than the state average, Darby is a very dangerous place to live.

Despite this fact, it is important to remember that there are a lot of things that can help make a city safe and enjoyable. Some of these things include having strong police and a great school system.

Darby is also home to a wonderful hiking trail that is perfect for families. The Rolling Hill Park Trail is a popular outdoor spot that includes several interesting ruins from past centuries.

Philadelphia

Philadelphia is a city with a long history that has become known as the home of the American Dream. Its iconic sites include Independence Hall (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Liberty Bell.

The city has also experienced historic levels of gun violence, with thousands of people impacted by this crisis. Several candidates for mayor of Philadelphia have listed this issue as one of their top priorities.

While Philadelphia has seen a decline in overall crime over the last 12 months, it still has a high homicide rate. And a number of neighborhoods are seeing an increase in crime.

Emmaus

The town of Emmaus, Pennsylvania, draws its name from Biblical references to a meeting between two disciples and a stranger on the road from Jerusalem back to their hometown. It is located in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania.

The city's crime rates are lower than many other cities in the state and the national average. However, it's important to keep in mind that this figure doesn't account for crimes committed outside of the town's boundaries.

After attending the three-day course, people participate in follow-up groups to reflect on their experience and support each other's spiritual growth. These little discipleship groups of two to six people meet weekly for an hour.

Greensburg

If you are looking to move or buy a home in Pennsylvania, one of the most important things to consider is safety. You don’t want to live in a place where crime is high or unsafe.

While the crime rate in Greensburg is higher than most cities its size, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s unsafe to live here. There are many neighborhoods in Greensburg that have lower than average crime rates.

If you are planning to live in Greensburg, it is a good idea to check out the crime rates in your neighborhood. If you are concerned about the crime in your area, it is always best to seek help from a local criminal lawyer. They can give you more information about the specific charges that may be filed against you if you are charged with a crime in Pennsylvania.
