Rob Minkoff is an American film director, producer, and animator who has earned his net worth as a result of his career in animation. He has directed many films, including two Academy Award-winning Disney animated movies, The Lion King and Stuart Little.
Born on August 11, 1962, in Palo Alto, California, United States, Rob Minkoff was raised by his parents Tola Fay Minkoff and Jack Robert Minkoff. He received a high school diploma from Palo Alto High School and later studied Character Animation at the California Institute of Arts.
He started his career in 1983 as an animator for the fantasy animated film The Black Cauldron. He then worked as a supervising animator for the animated mystery adventure movie The Great Mouse Detective and a character designer for the animated musical film Brave Little Toaster.
His breakthrough work came in 1994 when he was chosen to direct Walt Disney Animation Studios' animated feature The Lion King. Afterward, he directed the live-action movies Stuart Little and Stuart Little 2.
In 2003, he directed The Haunted Mansion and he also directed a number of computer-animated movies including Mr. Peabody & Sherman, which was a box office success.
He married businesswoman Crystal Kung on September 29, 2007. The couple is currently starring on the 11th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and they are reported to have a combined net worth of $16 million.
