The affluent world has countless grand mansions adorned with every luxury one can think of. Some of them cost millions and are truly a dream home!
But there are also some that cost less than a million dollars. Here are the most expensive houses in Ohio, according to Zillow.
1. Casa del Sol
The price tag on this massive house is almost enough to make you want to shave off your head. But it does offer some perks that can help a family enjoy the luxury of living in a truly remarkable home.
Sister Paula Gonzalez, a self-styled freelance futurist, converted this former chicken barn into one of the most enlightened passive-solar houses in the country. It also features solar hot water, air-to-air heat exchangers, hybrid poplars for fuel and an array of other energy-conserving features that help the property be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Casa Del Sol Tequila translates to "house of the sun" in Spanish, and pays homage to Mayahuel, the Aztec goddess of agave and the magic of golden hour. This tequila is crafted using only the finest 7-year-old 100% Blue Weber Agave and ages in select French Limousin oak cognac barrels.
This tequila offers a nice nose with hints of rosemary herbaceousness and candied grapefruit. On the palate, it has a smooth and mellow body that delivers a pleasant fusion of fresh agave with mint, caramel green apple and spice. It finishes semi-dry with baking spice, bittersweet grape soaked French oak and vanilla.
2. Waterwood Estate
The Waterwood Estate, an eccentric 38,000-square-foot mansion that sits on 160 acres of lakefront property in Vermilion, Ohio, is one of the most expensive houses in the state. Built in 1991 for inventor Don Brown, the house is a series of concrete "pods" connected by glass corridors.
The interior is a work of art. It is a dreamy, whimsical paradise with its own private beach and marina.
Architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen designed the house, in the pod style that became his signature. But the home also bears the unmistakable marks of its owner, Donald Brown, who invented the drop ceiling.
Brown died in a plane crash last year and his Florida-based heirs are now trying to sell the property. The house features several rotating floors, two indoor pools, a helicopter landing pad and a private marina.
3. The California Mansion
A home spanning almost 16,000 square feet and boasting eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms is no small feat. It also comes with a bevy of amenities, including an indoor-outdoor flow and floor-to-ceiling windows to take full advantage of its location and enviable vistas.

4. Zanesfield Mansion
Zanesfield is the smallest incorporated village in Logan County, with just over 200 residents. It’s known for being a sleepy town with a quiet charm.
There are no gas stations, bars or restaurants, but the area has a few small home businesses and is close to a Logan County recycling depot. It’s also located in a safe, rural area that avoids the usual problems of crime and natural disasters.
According to Zillow property records, this Zanesfield Mansion is currently listed for $10 million. It features 345 acres and a private 50-acre lake.
The estate has plenty of space for a grass airplane landing strip and is surrounded by horseback riding trails. It’s also a short drive from Mad River Mountain ski resort.
It’s a great place to get away from it all. It’s also a perfect location for a wedding. This is a gorgeous home and would make the perfect venue for an intimate ceremony.
