He is an American actor, comedian, and screenwriter from Minnesota. He is best known for his role as Terry Bernadino on Reno 911! and for his work with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions. He is also known for his sketch comedy show Nick Swardson's Pretend Time.
Born on October 9, 1976, in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area of Minnesota to Pamela and Roger Eric Swardson, Nick Swardson started his acting career by appearing in open mike nights at local comedy clubs. He was then able to go on to headline shows in New York City and Los Angeles.
During his high school years, Swardson struggled with alcohol and narcotics and was expelled from school four times. He eventually entered rehab, where he spent several months learning how to manage his problems.
After his rehabilitation, he started performing stand-up comedy at open mike nights in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. He then moved to Los Angeles to further his career. He also got work in commercials and small speaking roles.
His most notable film roles include “30 Minutes or Less,” “Hell and Back” and “Reno 911!: Miami.”
He co-wrote the screenplay for the 2003 film Malibu’s Most Wanted with Jamie Kennedy, as well as starring in the Comedy Central series Reno 911! In 2004, Swardson began his long-time working relationship with Adam Sandler.
He created and performed in the sketch comedy program “Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time,” which he also performs as a stand-up comic. He also works as a producer and a screenwriter. He is considered a great contributor to the comedy and entertainment industry.
