where is agt filmed

America's Got Talent is back on NBC this summer, and viewers are wondering where the show is filmed. Plus, they're also curious about how the live audience worked during season 16.

AGT has a special challenge when it comes to bringing a live audience to its shows. But it's not as difficult as you might think.

Pasadena Civic Auditorium

Located in Pasadena, California, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium is the location for agt season 16. It’s a gorgeous structure with lots of interesting features.

It’s also the home of an organ, which was donated by former BBC organist Reginald Foort. It’s a Moller theatre organ, which is a 5/28 instrument, and has a lot of history.

In the 1940s, it was used for a variety of touring legitimate theatrical productions and award shows. You can see a few pictures of it from that time period on Mike Hume’s Historic Theatre Photography site.

The auditorium was a main filming location for agt season 16, which aired on 1 June 2021. The show was filmed entirely in California, and was completed in just a few weeks.

The Dolby Theater

One of the most iconic theaters in Los Angeles is the Dolby Theater. It’s one of the most famous venues in the world and has been the home of many prestigious events.

This cinema is known for its state-of-the-art technology and amazing sound quality. The theater features Dolby Vision which delivers a stunning cinema experience with bright colors and incredible contrast.

It also offers Dolby Atmos which is a cutting-edge audio system that uses ceiling speakers and overhead speakers to create an immersive sound experience.

The theater also features vibrating seats which add to the experience. They’re located about two-thirds of the way back from the screen and in the center.

America’s Got Talent was filmed here last season and it will return in 2021 with Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel on the judges panel. Filming for the new season will begin in April and it’s expected to finish this summer.

Hollywood Palladium

The Palladium is a classic example of Streamline Moderne architecture, a style that is still very popular in the city today. Located on the Sunset Strip, it was designed in 1940 by noted architect Gordon B. Kaufmann.

During its first decade, the Palladium hosted big band and swing dance performances, such as the Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Kay Kyser, Phil Harris, and Tommy Dorsey orchestras. It also played host to some of the most well-known singers, from the Andrews Sisters and Peggy Lee to Rosemary Clooney and Alice Faye.

During World War II, the Palladium served as a radio broadcast venue, hosting music to raise funds for servicemen. Guests included the likes of Mary Astor, Judy Garland, and Bob Hope.

The Orpheum Theater

One of the most well-known theaters in the United States, the Orpheum Theater is a popular destination for concerts and events. Located in New York City, the theater offers accessible seating and is close to public transportation.

The Orpheum Theater has a rich history in the city and is known for its spectacular productions. The theater is a favorite among performers and audiences alike, and its acoustics are breathtaking.

During its time as a theater, it played host to burlesque queen Sally Rand, the Marx Brothers, Will Rogers and Frances “baby” Gumm (otherwise known as Judy Garland). It also hosted many of the top jazz acts in the country.

The Orpheum Theater has a long history in New York and was recently reopened in 2016. It has become a go-to venue for musical performances, concerts and recordings, as well as theater events. It is also home to the wildly popular show, Stomp. Mixing music, theater and visuals, Stomp is one-of-a-kind entertainment that will get you moving.
