In Bachelor Nation, it's common for contestants to travel to exotic locations for dates. This trend has been impacted by past restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, but it looks like the new season will get back to doing what it does best.
Promo clips have shown Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia boarding a cruise ship that appears to take them to Portsmouth, Le Havre, Bruges, and Amsterdam. It also appears that Paris will be another destination, according to a tweet from producer Mike Fleiss.
The Bachelor Mansion
If you're a fan of the popular reality TV show, chances are you've already heard about The Bachelor Mansion -- a home in Agoura Hills that has been a staple of the show for years. This iconic property has welcomed a slew of Bachelors and Bachelorettes, their suitors and thousands of roses over the years, all in the name of love.
However, it's not just a fancy house used for filming. It's actually owned by the Haraden family, who rent it to ABC twice a year for 42 days of filming.
The Mansion has been featured on several seasons of the show, but in 2018, it almost didn't survive the California wildfires. Thankfully, it didn't lose its exterior facade.
The home, which is referred to as "Villa De La Vina," is currently available to rent via Airbnb. Its seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms can accommodate 13 people, and it's priced at $5,828 per night.
Paris
Usually, once a season gets to the final four, it’s time for the leading ladies to head to the men’s hometowns. But this season, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia have made a special trip to Europe, and it looks like they’ll be making more than just one stop.
Paris, France is a major international city with world-class museums, art galleries, and landmarks. It’s also known for its fashion, diplomacy, finance, and gastronomy.
Emily meets Alfie at the Breakfast in America restaurant located on Rue Malher, which is a great spot for tourists who want a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. They then go up to the rooftop restaurant at Galeries Lafayette where they have lunch, which has a stunning view of the Opera Garnier and Paris!
The drag queen club where Mindy performs (and works as Madame Pipi) is La Nouvelle Eve club in Pigalle. It’s located at 25 Rue Pierre Fontaine in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.
Bruges
For this season of The Bachelorette, the contestants took a trip to Europe. In addition to Paris, Le Havre and Bruges, filming for the new season also took place in England, France and the Netherlands.
Bruges is the capital and largest city in Belgium's province of West Flanders. Its famous landmarks, such as the Archaeological Museum, Museum of Folklore, Basilica of the Holy Blood and Ter Doest Abbey, are all worth visiting, but this charming medieval town also offers much more.
One of the most iconic spots in Bruges is the Belfry, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site for its architecture. You can climb the 366 steps to the top, or simply take in the views from the tower.
The Groeninge Museum, Dijver 12, houses an extensive collection of works by Belgian painters. It's here that Ken and Ray visit the renowned Hieronymus Bosch painting of The Last Judgment.
Amsterdam
The city of Amsterdam is a top tourist destination and the backdrop for a few pivotal scenes in season 19 of “The Bachelorette”. Filmed in the Netherlands, this picturesque metropolis served as the location for Rachel’s most memorable moment.
The city was also the scene of Gabby’s first Hometown Date of the season, a daytime outing that included a tulip farm, Gouda cheese, and even a bicycle ride through the tulip fields. The city’s main sights include the Van Gogh Museum, Concertgebouw, Stedelijk Museum, and Anne Frank House.
The upcoming season is slated to include more than just a couple of homecomings and an array of one-on-one dates, presumably onboard a cruise ship. Several preview videos suggest that Gabby and Rachel will be boarding a ship that will take them to Portsmouth, Le Havre, Bruges, and perhaps Paris, France. Regardless, we’re sure the show will be a sight to see. Despite the limitations of COVID-19, this is a show we’re looking forward to watching all summer long.
