where is battle on the beach filmed

Battle on the Beach is an HGTV competition show featuring three teams of home renovators. Each team is led by a famous renovation expert, such as Ty Pennington and Alison Victoria.

The show is filmed in Gulf Shores and Surfside Beach, Alabama. It's also a popular tourist destination, thanks to its 32 miles of white sand and attractions such as championship golf.

Gulf Shores

HGTV has used the Gulf Shores beach area for several of its shows including Beachfront Bargain Hunt, Island Life and Beach Hunters. It’s also home to 32 miles of pristine beaches and plenty of other attractions.

Battle on the Beach is a new home renovation show airing this summer on HGTV. Three teams of house flippers are paired up with some renowned HGTV experts to compete for a $50,000 cash prize.

Mentors Alison Victoria, Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak are all on hand to help guide the contestants as they take on a series of challenges each week. Then, expert judges Mina Starsiak Hawk and Mike Holmes will judge the work of these teams to see who did the best job on the renovation.

Whether you’re watching Battle on the Beach or not, it’s a great way to check out some of the best home reno skills. You can watch a new episode of Battle on the Beach every Sunday at 9 p.m.ET on HGTV or through a streaming service like Discovery+.

Surfside Beach

Located between Miami Beach and Bal Harbour, Surfside is an idyllic beachfront town that attracts travelers looking for an escape from the city. This charming, small-town oasis features a walkable downtown district, beautiful residential areas and a serene white sand beach.

The HGTV show Battle on the Beach is set in Surfside and will feature three teams of house flippers, each led by an established home design mentor. They’ll complete weekly renovation challenges, with the team that adds the most value to their property winning a $50,000 prize.

For the first season of the series, Ty Pennington (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab) and Taniya Nayak (Restaurant Impossible) will serve as mentors. They’ll guide their teams as they work to transform identical homes into their dream vacation getaways.

Filming on the season began in February, and new episodes have already started to air each Sunday night. You can watch new episodes of Battle on the Beach by subscribing to HGTV or Discovery+.

Fort Morgan

HGTV’s reality competition series Battle on the Beach is filmed in picturesque beachside locations. It pits aspiring house flippers against one another in teams of three as they complete renovation challenges and win a $50,000 prize.

The show’s revolving cast of design rivals include Mike Holmes and Mina Starsiak-Hawk, Taniya Nayak, Ty Pennington, and Alison Victoria. Their renovation challenges involve creating a home that adds the most value while remaining within a budget.

Fort Morgan is a historic masonry pentagonal bastion fort at the tip of Mobile Point. It and neighboring Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island enclose Mobile Bay.

The fort was active in four wars, including the Civil War. It is now maintained by the Alabama Historical Commission. It also has a living-history program with re-enactments and Tuesday evening twilight tours. It is best known for being the site of the 1864 Civil War Battle of Mobile Bay. Loss of the fort and Dauphin Island to the Union fleet was one of the last blows for the Confederacy.

Gulfport

In the United States, a beach usually conjures up images of Florida or California, but HGTV's Battle on the Beach actually was filmed in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Considering the state offers filming tax credits for TV shows, it's no surprise production picked this location.

The competition series features aspiring house flippers competing against one another in teams of three to win a prize of $50,000. Home renovation expert Ty Pennington, of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Trading Spaces fame, serves as a mentor to each team.

In addition to the prize money, HGTV's 'Battle on the Beach' also offers its contestants a scenic ocean setting that can get anyone glued to their television screens. With the help of mentors from home-renovation shows like Windy City Rehab and Rock the Block, the contestants face a series of challenging renovation challenges that test their design skills.
