where is black summer filmed

Black Summer, a spinoff of Z Nation, stars Jaime King as Rose, a mother separated from her daughter during a zombie apocalypse. The eight-episode series is available on Netflix.

Filming for the series took place in and around Calgary, Canada. The city's landmarks like the Calgary Tower and McMahon Stadium were used, as well as smaller Albertan communities such as Beiseker and Irricana.

Netflix's latest zombie show Black Summer focuses on a mother and daughter separated during the apocalypse. It follows Rose (Jaime King) as she tries to reconnect with her daughter Anna.

During the first season, many scenes were filmed in Calgary, the capital city of Alberta, Canada. Some of the most recognizable spots included the McMahon Stampeders stadium, Queen Elizabeth High School and smaller Albertan communities like Beiseker and Irricana.

The show was originally scheduled to film in a number of locations across the province but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production was halted. It was later revealed that the cast and crew returned to film Season 2 in Alberta.

The second season of Black Summer was filmed in rural areas throughout Alberta including Rocky View County, Bragg Creek, Kananaskis Country and Morley. These locations are close to mountains and forested areas which made them perfect for the series' zombie apocalypse.

Spun off from Syfy's Z Nation, black summer is a prequel series that explores the first few weeks of a zombie apocalypse. The show is a bit darker and grittier than its sibling, but it doesn't lose any of the tongue-in-cheek tone that made the original so much fun.

In the midst of the apocalypse, Rose (Jaime King) gets separated from her daughter Anna at a security checkpoint and sets out to get her back. She meets a group of strangers who also want to find their missing loved ones, and they start to make their way to the stadium where Anna was taken.

Their journey is punctuated with death, and there are plenty of twists and turns along the way. The stadium is supposed to be a sanctuary from the chaos, but it turns out to be filled with devastation. Survivors begin to fight each other, and Rose's daughter isn't alone in this. This is a disturbing and bleak set piece, but it's also an important commentary on the socio-political state of America right now.

Black Summer is a zombie-apocalyptic Netflix series that stars Hart of Dixie's Jaime King and was created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. The show follows Rose as she tries to find her daughter in the terrifying surroundings of a zombie apocalypse.

Filming on Black Summer started in July 2018, around Calgary, Alberta, Canada with Queen Elizabeth High School, Stampede Park and McMahon Stadium serving as the main locations. Other small towns, including Irricana, Beiseker and Cochrane were also visited for scenes.

The series also features many Calgary sights, with the River Avenue Bridge over Bow River serving as a major location. Other notable locations include the city's Queen Elizabeth High School, the McMahon Stampeders Stadium and The Calgary Tower.

Release date

Black Summer is a Netflix show based on the cult horror series Z Nation by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. It recounts the first days of a zombie apocalypse.

When the first season of Black Summer was released on Netflix in April 2019, it exploded with fan interest. Fans of the original Z Nation series have been waiting to see if this show could continue the story.

The show is a must-watch for anyone who loves zombie dramas, but it's not for everyone. The harrowing action scenes and bloody fights are fast-paced, but there's very little depth or character development.

While the first two seasons of Black Summer have been a hit for Netflix, we've been hearing from some fans that the third season hasn't been renewed yet. This may be because Jaime King, who plays one of the lead characters in Black Summer, is getting cast in other projects.
