The newest spin-off of the popular Jersey Shore franchise is filmed in Buckhead, Georgia (aka the Beverly Hills of the South). Longtime friends from a wealth of social circles head to the lake house for a summer vacation filled with fun days, wild nights and high-drama hookups.
Unlike the previous series in the Shore franchise, this one has a group of close friends who already know each other well. The question is, how do they handle the pressure of appearing on TV together?
Buckhead Shore is a new MTV reality series that follows a group of friends as they spend their summer vacation at a lake house. Throughout the season, there will be plenty of drama that goes down as well as romances that are made and broken.
Unlike Floribama Shore, which is based in Florida, Buckhead Shore is actually filmed in Georgia. It's a spin-off of the popular Jersey Shore franchise and will air on Thursday nights on MTV.
In the cast of Buckhead Shore, there are plenty of stars that you will recognize from previous seasons. For example, JuJu Barney's father owns Magic City, DJ Simmons is the son of R&B singer and songwriter Daryl Simmons, and Bethania Locke has her own successful business.
Like all the other 'Shore seasons, 'Buckhead Shore' features a lot of drama and high-drama hookups. However, this time around, the group of friends will be able to enjoy the lakeside location while also focusing on their own personal lives.
Lake Burton, a Georgia mountain lake, is where the Buckhead Shore cast hangs out this summer. Located in Rabun County, it’s an idyllic location for a summer getaway with clear water and stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
It’s also where you’ll find the Waterfall Club, a private lake club with resort amenities like an award-winning golf course and upscale homes with mountain views. Moreover, the lake offers a variety of boating and fishing opportunities, as well as a marina with waterfront dining and rentals.
According to Savannah Gabriel, her experience filming the new Jersey Shore spin-off was “hectic.” She said she stayed with her boyfriend Parker Lipman’s family at their lake house along with his ex-girlfriend Katie Canham while they were shooting the show.
In the trailer, it seems like Parker is caught between his love for Savannah and Katie. This will probably lead to some drama in the new MTV series, similar to what we saw on Jersey Shore and Floribama Shore.
Lake Lanier, a man-made lake near Atlanta, is a popular spot for boating, swimming and water sports. It was created by the completion of Buford Dam on the Chattahoochee River in 1957 and is operated by the Army Corp of Engineers for flood control and water supplies.
Despite its popularity, the lake's murky waters have had a dark history that has fuelled rumors of its "curse." There are a few different stories around Lake Lanier – one is centered on a woman in a flowing blue dress who stalks the lake.
Another story is that hundreds of dead bodies float underneath the surface of the lake. Many of these deaths are believed to have happened after the town of Oscarville was flooded to create Lake Lanier in the 1950s.
Today, the ghost town of Oscarville still rests at the bottom of the lake. As a result, the area is considered to be one of the country's deadliest lakes.
MTV has taken the Jersey Shore franchise and given it a southern spin with a new show called Buckhead Shore. The upcoming reality series stars JuJu Barney, Katie Canham, Savannah Gabriel, Adamo Giraldo, Parker Lipman, Bethania Locke, Pat Muresan and Chelsea Prescott as they all go on their annual lake trip to Buckhead, Georgia.
While Buckhead does not have a real beach, it has plenty of fancy mansions and expensive shopping malls to draw attention. It also has a large lake called Lake Lanier 50 miles northeast that many Buckhead residents own lakeside homes on.
The cast members all live in Buckhead and filmed at their apartments, favorite hangouts and on the lake house. Many of the luxuries were furnished by the cast's parents, including Lipman’s father, Zach McLeroy, who owns Zaxby’s chicken fast-food chain.
The show is a bit different from the Jersey Shore franchise or even Floribama Shore because it is all about friends who already know each other and have lived together for years before filming. However, it is still a very popular addition to the show and promises plenty of drama.
