where is love island uk filmed

Love Island is one of the world's most popular reality shows, which sees singles living together in a villa for a chance to win a cash prize.

Throughout the series, contestants "couple up" with each other to avoid being dumped from the villa.

The winter season of Love Island is set to begin on ITV2 on Monday 16 January, with a new host in the shape of Maya Jama. It's also been revealed that the show's studio is brand new!

The villa

Love Island is a popular reality show that follows singles on a tropical island while they try to find love. Each season, the islanders must pair up or be sent home.

But unlike past seasons, this series of Love Island is being filmed in a villa that is never before used. The villa is located in the town of Franschhoek in South Africa, and it is part of an estate called Ludus Magnus.

The villa is a gorgeous place, and it feels really luxurious. Kingsnorth gives viewers a tour of the new villa, which has plenty of new features like a gym area, a 6 metre infinity pool, and a huge fire pit.

It also has a large, open kitchen, a dressing room, and a large bedroom that has been decked out with lots of beauty products. But the best thing about this villa is that it's a lot bigger than before!

The studio

Unlike other reality dating shows, Love Island isn't live - instead it's shot either one or two days before broadcast on ITV2. There are over 70 cameras rigged all around the villa, including by the pool and in the bedroom.

When filming starts, the singletons are given a strict rule book to follow. They must abide by these rules or risk being kicked out of the show.

The latest edition of the show, which is currently in its ninth season, has filmed in South Africa for the first time in three years. The villa they're staying at is described as an 'eco retreat' in the Franschhoek wine valley.

This year's winter series will be hosted by Maya Jama and is set to start on Monday 16 January. It's the first new season since 2020 and it'll be filmed in a different location than the summer series.

The contestants

Love Island uk is one of the highest-rated shows on TV and has led to real-life marriages and babies for contestants. The show is set in a luxury villa off the coast of Mallorca where sexy singles are sequestered in the hopes of finding love and PS50,000.

The series often catapults Islanders to fame almost instantly. While some of them have a large following before they start the show, others come into it with little to no social media presence.

That's why it's important to know who is in the villa ahead of time. Here's a look at the Love Island winter 2023 cast.

Popular Instagrammer David got off to a flyer in the villa but was quickly dumped by Tanya. He wasn't alone, however, as Siannise Fudge, Jessie and bombshell Rebecca all wanted to pair up with him too.

The prize

Love Island is a reality show that sees contestants live in an isolated villa in Mallorca. They are constantly monitored by camera crews and the winning couple receives a PS50,000 prize fund at the end of the series.

The show's final episode airs tonight with four couples left: Teddy and Faye, Chloe and Toby, Liam and Millie, and Kaz and Tyler.

After eight hot weeks, 36 amazing islanders have looked for love. There have been blow dries, bombshells and bed-hopping galore.

Now, the final four pairs are awaiting the results of the public vote, which will determine the winners of the season. In an interesting twist, the show's presenter Laura Whitmore will offer each winner two envelopes - one with money inside it and the other empty.

In a twist that no previous winner has ever pulled off, whoever gets the full envelope will be given the option to choose whether they want to share the money with their partner or keep it for themselves. This decision could mean a huge financial burden for some of the Love Islanders, who have proven that they can earn a substantial amount from their exposure on the show.
