Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the franchise had to change its usual filming location. Instead of staying near the iconic Bachelor Mansion, Matt James and his fiancees were filmed at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania.
The resort has a lot of fun activities to offer its guests, including safari tours, dog sledding and art galleries. It's a pretty cool place to stay, so it's no surprise that The Bachelor season 25 was filmed there.
Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
If you're a fan of The Bachelor, chances are you've noticed that this season isn't filming at the usual Bachelor mansion. Instead, the show is filmed in southwestern Pennsylvania, at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.
The Pennsylvania resort is known for its 2,000 acres of land, offering plenty of activities to keep contestants occupied without leaving the property. Guests can visit the on-site spa, go fly fishing, or try a zipline ride for the daring, as well as jeep off-roading and cross-country skiing.
Whether you're a guest at the main resort or in one of its private homes, your accommodations will be nothing short of luxurious. You'll be able to take your pick of spacious suites and luxury vacation homes, with amenities like private patios and fireplaces. You'll also have access to a range of dining options, as well as a pool and two golf courses.
Arden Estates
The latest season of The Bachelor is filming a lot of their episodes outside of the usual bachelor mansion. Instead, Matt James and his contestants are filming at a resort in Pennsylvania.
The Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is a 320-room resort that offers plenty of “experiences” for the Bachelor crew to get swooned over. It features a variety of activities like zip-lining, horseback riding, ATV rides, and more.
Oprah Magazine reports that Matt James’s season was filmed at one of the resort’s standalone hotels called Arden Estates. This 22-bedroom suite is also home to a romantic gazebo, hot tubs, and 24-hour butler service.
The property is owned by the Open Space Institute and is part of a 450-acre (1.8 km2) estate that was once a family home. It was donated to New York State by Mary Averell Harriman in 1910.
Chateau Lafayette
If you're a fan of The Bachelor, chances are you've drooled over the gorgeous resort where it's filmed. It showcases grand stairs covered in red carpet leading to a glamorous white mansion that looks like it's straight out of The Ritz Paris.
Chateau Lafayette is a chateau in the French wine-producing region of Auvergne, which is about 100 kilometers southeast of Clermont-Ferrand. The building, originally built for the Suat family in 1701 and reconstructed by the Lafayette family in 1790, is now managed by the Conseil Général de la Haute-Loire.
The castle's onsite museum commemorates the Marquis Lafayette, who played an important role in the American War of Independence. Its collection includes works from the 18th century, such as paintings by Adrienne Lafayette and other notable figures.
The chateau's interior is decorated in a classic French style, with plenty of antique pieces and fine artwork. Visitors will be able to see the Marquis' bedroom and the Grand Salon, which is considered one of the most beautiful rooms in the chateau.
Mystic Falls
Mystic Falls is a picturesque town in southwestern Virginia that has a rich supernatural history with generations of witches, werewolves and vampires. It's also home to a cemetery that played a huge role in the series and has a profound effect on many of the characters we met during the show.
Several scenes from the show were filmed at this scenic location and a few of these locations are still open for visitors to explore. Make sure to check out the Covington Visitor Information Center for a map and self-guided tour brochure, which will give you plenty of options on where to go while in Mystic Falls.
The Mystic Grill is one of the best spots to grab a bite, as it's inspired by one of the locations in the show. Inside, you'll find a staircase lined with cast flagstones and photos of the actors who filmed there, as well as a bathroom hallway that features autographed posters and Mystic Grill t-shirts.
