where is pvalley filmed

Starz's P-Valley is based on the play of the same name by Katori Hall and is set in a fictional town of Chucalissa, Mississippi. The series centers on the non-gender confirming owner of The Pynk and her girls.

The show takes place in a strip club and follows its lead dancers as they go about their day-to-day lives. But when a new girl shows up at the club, a lot of drama ensues.

Chucalissa

The Starz series P-Valley, which premiered this year, takes place in a fictional town called Chucalissa, Mississippi. It's not a real town or a strip club, but it feels incredibly authentic due to the research done by creator Katori Hall.

She spent six years visiting strip clubs to get a feel for the environment. In addition, the characters speak with a "slang" that's influenced by her own upbringing and the accents of her family.

In fact, the cast is full of former Memphians, including Brandee Evans as Mercedes, Zachariah Rogers as Keyshawn, and Bertram Williams Jr. as Montavius, who all grew up in Memphis.

If you're interested in learning more about the history of American Indians, Chucalissa Indian Village is a must-see! This National Historic Landmark is located in Memphis and explains the life of Native Americans in the South. You can even climb earth mounds and go inside a replica village, complete with working archaeological labs.

East Point

East Point, Georgia, is a quaint and ethnically diverse city that combines small town charm with big city amenities. It is a thriving residential community and home to many Fortune 500 companies.

It is also a popular destination for entertainment and culture with over 25 distinct neighborhoods. Among them are historic, walkable neighborhoods that offer tree-lined streets and charming bungalows, cottages, and Cape Cod style homes.

In addition to the city's quaint charm, East Point is also known for its competitive home prices. Despite its affordability, residents are still able to find some wonderful homes that feature historic features such as hardwood floors and fireplaces, as well as contemporary amenities like granite countertops, large master suites, finished basements, and spacious decks.

The city is located southwest of Atlanta in Fulton County, Georgia. It is one of the state’s “Camera Ready” communities, which helps to attract film and TV production.

Atlanta

Atlanta, Georgia’s capital city and one of the top tourist destinations in the South, is known for its diversity, shopping, thriving nightlife, and sultry weather. It’s also a hub for film and TV production thanks to tax incentives.

In addition to being a popular filming location, Atlanta is home to many of the world’s most iconic hotels, including the Sheraton Hotel and the Westin Hotel. It also features numerous restaurants and entertainment venues, such as the Fox Theatre, College Football Hall of Fame, and Centennial Olympic Park.

When it comes to shopping, the city has plenty of stores that sell everything from luxury goods to great deals. It is also home to popular attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola.

The Starz series P-Valley follows a group of strip club dancers in the fictional Mississippi town of Chucalissa. While the town itself is not real, it does feel very authentic and has a strong impact on Black womanhood and gender issues.

Mississippi

P-Valley is set in Mississippi, a state known for its rich history and fascinating culture. It might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of a place to travel, but it’s definitely worth considering.

The aptly named town of Chucalissa, Mississippi, is the backdrop for Starz’s gritty drama series about erotic dancers in America’s Deep South. The show is based on Katori Hall’s play of the same name and stars Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan, Shannon Thornton, Elarica Johnson, Skyler Joy, and more.

The cast members are all African-American, which makes the series a rare portrayal of Black women on TV. The series is produced by an all-female directing team, and the storyline skillfully navigates issues of race, sexuality, and gender in a setting of America’s Deep South.
