Where is The Circle Season 2 Filmed?

where is the circle season 2 filmed

If you’ve ever wondered where the popular social media-inspired game show The Circle is filmed, you’re not alone. While the show uses cityscape shots of Chicago and Milwaukee, the actual apartments it shows off aren’t even in America.

The UK version of the show films in an apartment building in Salford, near Manchester, England. And according to Tim Harcourt, creator of The Circle, all international versions film there as well.

The Apartments

The Circle is one of Netflix's most popular reality shows, and it's no surprise that fans are constantly asking when the new season will drop. But one of the most intriguing parts of The Circle is where it's filmed, and it may come as a shock to many.

The show is set in England, and each iteration of The Circle (from Season 1 to today) has been filmed in the same apartment complex. It's located in Salford, Greater Manchester, close to the city center and features a gym and rooftop lounge.

In addition to the apartments, which are designed to mimic each contestant's personality and personality style, the building also features a giant LED circle that is featured in the show's trailers and episodes. It's a perfect match to the show's design and decor.

The Control Room

Emergency call handling can be one of the most stressful jobs in the world. Whether they’re dealing with panicked people or injured callers, handlers must keep their heads on a swivel as they extract vital information from worried individuals.

Fortunately, emergency call handlers are paid well and get to travel the world as part of their job. However, the job can also be very traumatic for the handlers – especially when someone from their past calls and asks them to help with something that may be a crime or an accident.

The control room is where the show’s main characters – Gabe Maver (Iain De Caestecker) and Sam Tolmie (Joanna Vanderham) – work to deal with these difficult situations. When a former friend from his childhood calls Gabe to warn him that Sam is planning to murder her partner, Gabe is forced to put his life on the line for Sam. Despite their rocky relationship, they ultimately manage to reconcile.

The Quarantine Digs

The circle season 2 has a lot going for it, from the bling bling to the sexiest contestants. However, fans of the cult hit have one question in particular: where is the circle filmed? Luckily for us, we had the opportunity to travel to England to check it out. As it turns out, the show is filmed in Manchester, U.K., in an apartment building designed specifically for the show. The 65 units are stacked in a pyramid shape, with the largest units boasting a whopping two bedrooms.

While there is no way to know for sure when the show was filmed, what we do know is that it was probably a couple of months in the making. Regardless, we were blown away by the sexiest, most technologically advanced apartments we have ever seen. We're looking forward to visiting again next time we are in the neighborhood. The circle occupants have a new lease on life, and we can't wait to see what they come up with next.

The Finale

Netflix’s breakout hit The Circle follows eight strangers quarantined in their apartments, linked only by a social media app called “The Circle.” As they communicate with each other, rank friendships and play games, they can choose to play as themselves or a catfish.

The game aims to simulate the effects of the 2020 lockdown and foreshadow the world’s reaction to the pandemic, but it also makes for some pretty intense drama. So much so that one season ended with a surprise winner:

While the show’s format isn’t exactly new, Season 2 feels a bit different than the first. It’s still all about strategy, but the players aren’t as chummy, and some familiar faces have made their way back into the competition. From a contestant from another reality series (hey, you already got your shot) to a YouTuber and Lance Bass, this season has its share of surprises. But it’s all about getting a win, and if you want to be crowned the winner, you’ll have to take some serious risks.
