In Dave Franco’s (The Disaster Artist) horror thriller, two couples go on a home-sharing getaway. But things take a terrifying turn when they discover that their host may be spying on them.
The film was filmed in and around Bandon, Oregon. It is a horror thriller starring Alison Brie, Dan Stevens and Sheila Vand.
The Rental House
The rental house is perched on a lonely cliff between the southern base of Cape Arago and the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, north of Bandon (Coos Bay). The four-bedroom estate home with its own private beach is about 5,600 square feet.
Located near the end of the beach, the rental's most noteworthy feature is its ocean views. Besides being a stunning filming location, it also provides plenty of interesting scenery for the film's action and romance scenes.
Dave Franco, who co-wrote and directed The Rental, dubbed it the "tasty little gem of a movie." The film stars his wife Alison Brie, Dan Stevens, Sheila Vand, and Jeremy Allen White. The story centers around two couples that book a home-sharing getaway that turns into a nightmare.
It's no surprise that The Rental is a surprisingly good horror flick. With its impressive set design, cleverly choreographed action and engaging cast, the 2020 thriller has everything to please the horror buff.
Aside from its many awe-inspiring scene-stealing locations, The Rental boasts some of the best camerawork in the business. The film's signature double-exposure shots and clever use of a moving camera prove the title is one to watch out for. The film was rated R and is available to rent from Netflix, but you can also see it in a few drive-ins starting Friday.
Located on 72 private Pacific Oceanfront acres, SeaWinds Estate is one of the most spectacular private venues in the United States. Guests will feel completely alone with nature as they meander up a mile long driveway through old growth Pine and mighty Sequoia. Lush fern and glimpses of the Pacific can be seen along the way.
Featuring stunning views of the Oregon coastline, this exquisite oceanfront venue offers a secluded setting for memorable wedding ceremonies and receptions. Couples can choose to exchange their vows on a secluded beach, or hold indoor festivities in the expansive main house.
The property is nestled on a cliff between Cape Arago’s southern base and the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, north of Coos Bay. This iconic seaside estate boasts a 5,600 square foot house and a private beach.
It is also the perfect place for a small wedding or a family reunion. It’s only 15 minutes from the world-class Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and the town of Bandon has fine restaurants, eclectic art galleries and shopping.
The community is located on Highway 544 near Socastee and close to Highway 17 Bypass South. The new homes start from low $200s and offer a variety of spacious 3 & 4 bedroom plans with a large variety of amenities.
Seven Devils State Recreation Site
One of the northernmost public beach access points on the long stretch of remote beach that runs between the mouth of the Coquille River near Bandon, Oregon and the tall cliffs of Cape Arago, Seven Devils State Recreation Site is not well known. But it's a fantastic spot to start an adventure on the beach.
The beach at this location is a good choice for families and those looking for a secluded spot to spend some time together in the sun. Fishing, swimming, and picnicking are some of the popular activities at this beach.
If you want to get a little more exercise, hike the Sawmill and Tribal Trail. This is a difficult but rewarding 11-mile loop that leads to the coast.
Those who aren't interested in hiking can just go for a stroll along the sandy beach at this location, and if you're looking to explore the area's history, visit the wayside, which used to be the Merchant family's homestead. Or, take a walk south around Fivemile Point to Whiskey Run Beach, which was once a popular spot for the area's gold rush.
