where is the ultimatum netflix filmed

Netflix's new reality dating show, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, reveals the pitfalls of romance and promises drama-filled happy or unhappy endings. The series follows six couples, one of which is ready to get married and the other is on the fence.

Like seasons 1 and 2 of Love Is Blind, the cast members live in one city to keep the dating process realistic. In the case of The Ultimatum, they filmed in Austin, Texas.

Austin, Texas

Netflix's new reality dating show, The Ultimatum, is a chaotic and unpredictable social experiment where couples face a crossroads in their relationships. Whether they're ready to get married, walk away from their current partner, or start over with a new person, each couple has a different path that leads them to one of the show's six goals -- and this cast is no exception!

The first few episodes of the show saw all six couples mingling at the Austin Marriott Downtown. They all spent one week getting to know each other and then formed new "trial marriages" for three weeks before going back to their original partners.

Once they started dating someone new, the split-up couples stayed in rooms at Aloft Austin Downtown, which is also operated by Marriott. It's located close to many of the locations where the couples hung out during their trial marriages, including The Lobbyist, a two-story bar and lounge in the hotel.

Paris, France

The Netflix reality series The Ultimatum has been a hit among subscribers. The series focuses on six couples on the cusp of lifelong love who get hit with an ultimatum: Get engaged or break up!

Fans have been watching these couples struggle with their commitments in various ways, from taking pod-proposals to escaping to paradise to date while abiding by strict rules. Now, the show is back for a second season with a fresh twist: They’re deciding whether to marry their initial partner or move on.

Most of the filming for The Ultimatum: France is done in Paris, the capital city of Ile-de-France. The production team uses restaurants and bars across the city, including Le Belair at 116 Av. du President Kennedy, Kura at 56 Rue de Boulainvilliers, Skybar Paris at du Pullman, and 19 Rue du Commandant Rene Mouchotte 32eme etage.

Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta, Georgia is home to a small but growing film industry. Thanks to a tax credit, the state has been the location of choice for many Hollywood-based productions.

In the past decade, this industry has grown to be one of the largest in the country. It is largely populated by Georgians who work behind the scenes on films that are shot in the state.

But it’s not all good news. The influx of Hollywood talent often means lower pay, less creative input, and more short-term contract work for local workers.

For many, that means reshaping their lives, be it working nights and weekends, or even shifts that run longer than 12 hours. It’s a tough balance that’s not easy to make for some.

This is especially true for film crews. For starters, it’s difficult to get ahold of many of the high-quality actors and producers that are needed on a film, even with the film tax credit.

Chicago, Illinois

The newest reality show to hit Netflix, The Ultimatum, follows six couples on the brink of marriage. One partner wants to get married, while the other isn't ready.

But before they can get hitched, the pairs have to go through a dating experiment where they get a chance to date a new partner. Then, they have to decide whether to stay together or move on.

Similar to other reality dating shows like Love is Blind and Married at First Sight, the creators of The Ultimatum want to keep the process as realistic as possible -- which means they'll have to film in a location that's close to the contestants' home.

It's likely that the production team chose Austin, Texas for the show's filming location. That's where all of the cast members live, so it makes sense that they'd choose to film here for this experiment. Plus, it's a great place for new couples to try out their new relationship.
