Covington
The Peach State is a hotbed for filming movies and television shows, and Covington (aka Mystic Falls) has been used in numerous shows including The Vampire Diaries. Located just outside of Atlanta, it’s a small Southern town that’s self-proclaimed as the “Hollywood of the South.”
There are plenty of places you can visit and eat while in Covington. The famous Mystic Grill is one of them, and it’s a must for all TVD fans.
Another place you can visit is the Mystic Falls Welcome Center. It has maps of all the shooting locations and has a store that sells TVD merchandise. They also have a few of the original props from the show, including a Salvatore name marker from the mausoleum and a statue from the top of Elena’s grave.
If you’re a fan of the show, you can sign up for a tour with Mystic Falls Tours, which will take you to some of the most popular TVD shooting sites. The tours are $55 per person and include lunch and a guided tour of the Mystic Falls area.

The series was filmed in several places around the country, but Covington, Georgia was where it was shot for most of its run on the CW. While there were many real-life places that appeared in the show, Covington is the place to visit if you want to truly feel like you’ve stepped into the world of Mystic Falls.
