Who was Eugene Field?

Eugene Field was an American writer famous as the "poet of childhood." He was born in St Louis, Missouri, on September 2, 1850. He was prominent mainly for children's poetry. In addition, he also wrote humorous essays. His mother died early in his childhood. So, his aunt raised and looked after him. His father, Roswell Martin Field, was a lawyer. "The Tribute Primer" is one of his popular books. While "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod" is one of his famous poems for children. He died in Chicago, Illinois, on November 4, 1895. Eugene once lived in St Louis, Missouri. Furthermore, this second-largest city in Missouri offers great higher education opportunities, affordable living costs, and many fun things to do.

The house had more than three bedrooms and more than one bathroom with over 1,500 square feet of space. This lovely three-story building known as Eugene Field House is his childhood home. Now it's a historic house museum. It is also popular as the "St Louis Toys Museum." Furthermore, this red brick estate was his father's home, whose name was Roswell Martin Field. Moreover, the residence was constructed in 1845 in the Federal architectural style. The house includes many original furnishings of the family. There are carpets on the floor, several books, and furniture. Also, it contains a huge collection of toys and paintings on the wall. Moreover, in 2007 it was designated as National Historic Landmark.
