Microbrewery Equipment: 5 Must-Haves

May 8, 2023

When it comes to equipment for a small brewery, there are a few essential things that every brewery must invest in.

After reading our article, you will learn how best to complete your brewery: from kegs for beer storage to special cooling systems.

Let’s get brewing!

1. Kegs

Kegs are an integral part of any brewery. These tanks are designed for the production, storage and further transportation of beer.

  • Corny Keg, which holds between 1.5 and 5 gallons, is enough to test a new recipe.
  • Since we talk about microbrewery, on a permanent basis you can use a 30l keg. The size of this barrel will be more than enough for the needs of your production.

2. Kegerators

Kegerators are refrigerators specially designed for cooling kegs. They are available in different sizes and can hold one or more barrels.

You can select portable or built-in models.

3. Yeast Brink

It is a container used to store yeast and maintain its purity and efficiency for future use. Yeast brink allows brewers to collect yeast after fermentation and reuse it to produce homogeneous and high-quality beer. We recommend Yeast Brink with a conical bottom. This is the most common model because it allows yeast to settle on the bottom, which facilitates harvesting.

4. Cooling System

Beer must be served at the right temperature, so your brewery can not do without a special cooling system.

There are two cooling systems: air and glycol. We recommend the glycol one because it allows faster cooling and maintains even a narrow temperature range.

5. Beer Towers

Beer Tower is a special device designed for drinks dispensing from barrels. Beer dispensers are available in a variety of styles and materials including brass, stainless steel and ceramic.
