Jeffrey Dahmer was an American serial killer who committed gruesome murders between 1978 and 1991. His choice of victim were young men, often luring them back to his apartment before drugging, sexually assaulting, and then murdering them. He was also known to dismember the body parts of his victims and store them in his freezer. He was eventually caught after more than a decade, and sentenced to life in prison. He didn’t last long in prison though, and in 1994 he was beaten to death by a fellow inmate. It’s hard to feel satisfied about his death though, since he was quoted as saying, "If I was killed in prison that would be a blessing right now." Despite his horrific actions, Dahmer remains a topic of fascination and discussion among criminologists, psychologists, and the general public. There have been numerous documentaries and movies about Dahmer. Recently, in September 2022, the Netflix series, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story was released. It was created by Ryan Murphy and stars Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer. It seems with every new generation, the Dahmer interest pops up again.

In 1968, when Jeffrey Dahmer was just 8 years old, his parents moved into this 2,170 sq ft home. Built in 1952 and featuring 3 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms, and almost 2 acres of land, the home sits right in the middle of secluded woods. This is the place where Dahmer killed his first victim, a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks. Despite the horrid history, the home has been occupied since 2005. It really is a beautiful looking home. Like a modern treehouse. Surrounded by tall trees, a peaceful pond, and a large deck wrapping around the whole back exterior. It is also close to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I’m sure with the right amount of sage, this is a wonderful home to live in, by the looks of it.

Quiet, Cozy, And Calm: The Exterior
This long wooden balcony wraps around the whole backyard. It allows for amazing views of the tree lines and the peaceful serenity of nature. With the blanket snow, I imagine it would be nice to enjoy a morning coffee. Wrapped up in a cozy blanket and smelling the crisp winter air. It also looks like the backyard would be a great place to sled as a kid. If you enjoy a quiet home with no nosy neighbors, this looks like the ideal place.

Perhaps you don't love the idea of seeing your breath while enjoying your coffee on the deck. Luckily, this home features wall to ceiling glass windows and doors. From the kitchen to the living room, you are able to enjoy the views from the comfort and warmth of the wood burning fireplace. The interior is an open concept, with a mixture of hardwood, vinyl, and linoleum flooring. There are also numerous hanging light fixtures, in case all the natural sunlight isn't enough.

The kitchen is completely open to the dining and living room. It has been modernized and up to date. With stainless steel appliances, marble countertops, and a cute little breakfast nook. Honestly, the cabinets remind me of something out of the Jetsons. And to top it off, there's some nice recessed lighting.
Ok, so the bathroom isn't exactly modern. It is however unique. The peach ceramic sink matches the angular peach bathtub. Floor to ceiling black marble walls make up the interior. With a black toilet to match. It could be easily updated, however there’s something nostalgic about the way it is.

Conclusion: Horrid History, Peaceful Present
It’s eerie to think this home is the place where it all started for Jeffrey Dahmer. However, looking past that, it really is a great home. Peaceful, cozy, and large.
