Walter White's Famous House

June 5, 2023

Walter White is a fictional character from the beloved television series Breaking Bad. He is portrayed by actor Bryan Cranston. At the start of the series, Walt is a 50 year old high school chemistry teacher. He finds out that he has inoperable lung cancer, and is given roughly two years left to live. Fearing for the welfare of his family after he passes, and being a chemist, he conceives a plan to start making and selling meth. With the help of his student Jesse Pinkman, who uses drugs himself and knows how to deal, the two create the most sought after brand of blue meth in the area. The show was created and produced by Vince Gilligan, and also launched the spin-off Better Call Saul. The spin-off also was beloved, and starred the Breaking Bad character of criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. In 2019, there was also a movie, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, that starred Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman. The movie followed Jesse and the event directly after the Breaking Bad series finale. Breaking Bad is known as one of the best television shows of all time. I’m not sure how they would do it, but I’d love another show or movie in the same world of the show.

This famous TV home was built in 1972. It has been owned by Frances and Louis Padilla for nearly 40 years. The single story home features four bedrooms and one bathroom. The interior is carpeted and has 1,910 sq ft of space. The exterior is modest, if not instantly noticeable by any Breaking Bad fan. It features an attached garage, with two parking spaces available in the driveway. Two large windows in the living room are noticeable right away, while the front door is tucked away behind perfectly trimmed hedges. Common with most houses in the area, there isn't much grass, however there is a large stone garden with a tree planted right in the middle. As much of a fan of the show I am, and would love to see the home in person, out of respect I’ll stick to looking online. Since the first season aired and still to this day, the house is toured by thousands of fans monthly. Most of which the owners say are respectful, however there are many that are not. Trespassing, stealing, throwing pizzas on the roof, and even jumping the fence to jump in the pool are all complaints that the owners have had to deal with. This has caused the owners to build a tall iron fence that surrounds the house. Can’t say I blame them.

Where Does Walter White Live?

Walter White Address: Piermont Dr, Albuquerque, NM

Tall Trees & Cement: The Exterior

While the real home also has a swimming pool in the back, this backyard comes right from the show. Similar to the real home, the backyard is made up of all cement, with a cement stone wall. The focal point is the large swimming pool, necessary for the Albuquerque heat. Another necessity are the extremely tall trees, great for blocking out the sun.

This is Walt and Skylar's bedroom. Despite being dressed in gray and tan tones, it is quite cozy. With tan carpet, beamed ceilings, and a sliding door closet. There is even a private bathroom attached. The real home only has one bathroom, but in the show there seems to be two.

Walter White's living room features a stone wood burning fireplace, and is open to the dining room. The sliding glass door off the dining room leads into the pool area. While the windows off of the living room are visible by the front yard.

Conclusion: Famous & Sought After

While I love being able to check out the house where Walter White lived, I do feel slightly bad for the real owners having to deal with all the fans throughout the years. Still, I think I would love to live in a famous television or movie home.
