Hallmark is the reigning queen of feel-good holiday movies, but a new network has started to make waves in the genre. Great American Media, formerly known as GAC Family, has been attracting former Hallmark stars to its competing channel with several big names jumping ship from the original. One of those big names is Full House alum Danica McKellar, who recently signed a multi-picture deal with the new channel.

In addition to her filming schedule, McKellar is hosting the daytime talk show Home & Family. The series, which has been nominated for six Daytime Emmys, focuses on topics such as arts and crafts, home improvements, parenting tips and lifestyle advice. The show first paused production in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed with its ninth season in September. However, it's been revealed that the current batch of episodes will be the last for the show, which is filmed in Los Angeles, California.

While Vancouver is a common filming location for Hallmark's heart-warming stories, productions can also be found in the city of Toronto and nearby Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Langley, Squamish and Surrey. In fact, Canadian cities have become a hotspot for Hallmark movie productions, and Country Living even recommends visiting these charming, small-town locations to experience the magic of a Hallmark production for yourself.

Another familiar face to Hallmark audiences, Dancing With the Stars alum Candace Cameron Bure has signed a deal with Great American Media's parent company, resulting in her starring in multiple films on both channels. The Pretty Little Liars alum made her Hallmark debut in 2020 with Holly & Ivy and has starred in 2021's Right in Front of Me and last year's Coyote Creek Christmas.
